Renting vs. Buying a Home in Plant City

The median sale price of a house in Plant City is close to $312,000. On average, a home in Plant City rents for $2,150. Depending on the type and size of home you need, a rental property in Plant City could go for anywhere from $1,050 to $5,000 per month. Plant City has a mix of homes for rent, including condos, townhouses, single-family homes, and multi-family houses.

Based on the home that you choose, monthly rent in Plant City might be as much as a mortgage payment. If you decide that you are ready to purchase a home in Plant City, we can help you search for a house that meets your needs. We can also work with you to find the perfect rental property within your budget.

Renting often makes more sense than buying for many people. When you rent a house, you will only be required to put down a security deposit and then make your monthly rent payments. You won’t have to save up tens of thousands of dollars to make a down payment as you do when purchasing a home. Renting also gives you more flexibility if you aren’t sure that you want to live in Plant City permanently. You also won’t have to pay for or take care of maintenance or repairs on a rental home.

Of course, every person’s situation is different - and what is right for one person might not be the best option for another. Our Hillsborough County real estate experts can walk you through your options and help you make a decision that works for your family and your budget. Whether you rent or buy, we can help you find a great house at the right price.
